This saturday I will host a day of Limited Edition Mini Sessions in honor of Mothers Day. From 10-4 on May 10th , come to my studio in Bridgewater Center with your children or your own mother for a day dedicated just to Moms. We are so often behind the camera and thus absent from the photo albums and scrapbooks. This day is all about you!

First Communion & Graduation Time

With the site of the buds on the trees it means its time again for First Communions and Graduations. A lovely centerpiece on your First Communion table would be your child's portrait. Book now and have your image displayed for your get together, and have me take care of the details.....I offer thank you notes, gift prints, bookmarks, and more.
For the Graduate in your life, why not order custom invitations, announcments and thank you notes using your son or daughter's senior portraits? See here for samples. A great way to shorten that "To Do" list!

Contest Winners

YAY!! I have TWO winners for my New Website Contest. Due to a technical glitch, the website went live before the newsletter announcing it's impending arrival, actually went out. But Claudia Cassamajor of Bridewater has such keen eyes, she emailed me early this am to compliment me. Imagine my surprise! But, in the true spirit of the contest I decided to award another winner after the newsletter hit your In Boxes. Kim Newbury, also of Bridgewater was lightning fast in replying with kind words as well.
"Love the website!! It definitely will not help the addiction I have about
you taking our pictures. Colin saw me looking at it and asked if I was
having you do more pictures- I told him it was time:-)!! The Fox family
photos are beautiful!! Your photos just keep getting better! I will be in
touch- hopefully soon!"
Both of these women have been clients of mine over the past several years, and I appreciate their trust in me to photograph their families. Both will win a free session for themelves and a session to gift to a friend. Thanks to all who sent kind words and thoughts, and as always, for supporting Cathleen Broderick Photography. I appreciate so much when you return again, and for all your referrals to your friends and family.
New Web Site!
Its almost here, the new site will go live sometime this coming week. As I mentioned in my newsletter, the first person to email me with what they like best about the new site will win a free session for themselves, and get this...one to gift to a friend!! So keep your eyes peeled......
(Children, Senior or family (up to 5 people) regular session only, does not apply to extended family groups. Value of up to $150, depending on session time and location, not redeemable for cash.)
Early Spring Session

My friend B sure is patient with his twin sisters. I was lucky to photograph these children when the girls were just newborns, now look at how they've grown! We has fun running around the Sheep Pasture in Easton.

After...and Before!
A Winning Weekend

I recently attended the Professional Photographers of Massachuetts annual Convention in Natick. Photographers from all over MA, and New England, got together for 4 days of educational seminars, social gatherings and MY favorite part, the Print Competition! There were over 240 entries this year in the categories of Portrait, Wedding/Event, Illustrative/Unclassified and Conceptual Imaging. I am happy to report that I received blue and red ribbons for all 5 of my entries. This, entitled "Security Blanket" was my highest scoring.
Sharing my good news.....

When you hire a photographer, you want the best—but ensuring that you get the best photographer for the job can be a difficult task.
When you see a photographer displaying Certified Professional Photographer seal, you can be sure that he or she is among the less than 3% of all imaging professionals who have successfully completed and maintained strict requirements.
Those who have earned the Professional Photographic Certification have passed a comprehensive written exam measuring their technical expertise, and have successfully submitted their work to a panel of judges for review and approval.
Every five years, a photographer must renew his or her credentials by participating in continuing education programs and periodically submitting work for critical evaluation. This helps assure you that certified photographers maintain their level of expertise and continue to develop new skills and techniques.
I recently earned this Certification, and am proud to say I am giving my clients my best.
The Story of Stuff
When you contact Cathleen Broderick Photography for a session, I do not mail out brochures and pricelists. I do this in the name of our environment. I will direct you to special sections of my website for more information, or invite you to my office for a chat. Creating fancy paper "fluff" about my business impacts our world tremendously from the use of paper and ink to the fuel needed to transport through the mail. I am always available via telephone or email to answer any questions you may have or give more information as to what your experience will be like.
This is a GREAT presentation on the state of our planet. http://www.storyofstuff.com/
27 Families in an hour and a half.....

Friday November 16th was National Adoption Day and I was asked to photograph some of the families completing their adoption process on this special day. What a whirlwind of activity and emotions! A collaborative event organized by the Massachusetts Department of Social Services, MARE (Massachusetts Adoption Resource Exchange) and the Juvenile Court Dept. & Probate and Family Court Dept. of the MA Trial Court, courthouses throughout MA were the scene of over 400 adoptions in one day.
I was pleased to offer this family portrait service to 27 families at the Brockton Trial courthouse. Here a few of the happy groups.
Thanks to my great assistants Ann and Catherine who kept me organized!
